Free Food Distribution & Assistance:
  • Centre County Food Pantries List (Eight pantries as of 3/31/20) Compiled by Central PA Community Action, Inc.
  • State College Food Bank : This food bank offers 12 regular food distributions over a 12-month period for residents of State College, Port Matilda, Ferguson, Harris, College, Patton, Halfmoon, Taylor, Worth or Huston. To qualify, you must receive a referral from one of the partners listed on the site. 
  • First Presbyterian Church of Bellefonte, 201-203 N Spring St, Bellefonte, PA 16823 has bag lunches for Pick up available Monday, Wednesday and Fridays from 11:30 am until noon
  • Centre Helps emergency food program: Emergency food is available 24 hours a day. Call 814-237-5855 or 800-494-2500 for details.
  • State College Area Meals on Wheels
    • Eligibility not restricted by age. The frail elderly, those convalescing from surgery or illness, and those chronically and/or emotionally ill may be eligible to receive meals

  • St. Andrews Episcopal Church Community Cafe – A free takeout meal Thursday from 5-7pm. Everyone is welcome.
  • PA Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) Assistance & COVID-19 Resources
  • CommonFood Centre County – a non-profit that provides under-served and under-employed elderly, single parent families, and low-income families in western Centre County and neighboring areas with nutritious food and related services.
  • Shop4Seniors — This grassroots effort matches seniors or others who are at high risk with COVID-19 with volunteers who can regularly go shopping for them. Participants pay for their groceries, but there is no fee or tipping for the volunteers who shop and deliver their groceries for them.
